CASO staff and students from Cape Peninsula University of Technology/ Western Cape College of Nursing were asked to present at the CPASSA conference in Cape Town on 19 May 2017. The purpose of the presentation was to provide information regarding CASO and simultaneously offer feedback from the students regarding their mobility in Belgium and Netherlands.
The College Principles and Academic Staff of South Africa (CPASSA) forum aims to communicate a shared purpose and direction for improving the performance and effectiveness of Nursing Education.
Celesté Louw (CASO staff member) presented information regarding the background, aims, objectives, progress and future endeavours of CASO. The students who attended the mobility in Belgium and Netherlands, ( Molefi Shebi, Shihaam Barnes and Philicia Bloem) presented feedback on the IPSIG programme, their experiences as well as the lessons learned during their mobility. Delegates at the conference expressed keen interest in the various work packages. More especially the long term benefits of how CASO will affect healthcare and wellness in South Africa. In addition it was an opportunity to promote and create more extensive awareness of CASO.
